Gianfranco Gilardi, PhD, is Professor of Biochemistry in the School of Natural Sciences at the University of Turin, Italy. He is Fellow of The Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC) and member of the Italian Academy of Sciences, American Chemical Society, The Biochemical Society (UK) and Italian Biochemical Society. Author of over 100 refereed papers, Dr. Gilardi has spoken at more than 50 international congresses, workshops, and seminar series, as well as organized and chaired 10 international meetings. Dr. Gilardi's current research focus is on redox systems with particular reference to electron transfer proteins, hydrogenates, bacterial and human drug-metabolising mono-oxygenase enzyme.

Jian-Jiang Zhong obtained his BS degree in Chemical Engineering from East China University of Science & Technology (ECUST; formerly: ECICT) in July 1986, and Ph.D. degree in Fermentation Technology from Osaka University in March 1993. Dr. Zhong was promoted to full professor in November 1996 by ECUST. Since Sept. 2006, Prof. Zhong has established a new lab on Molecular Biochemical Engineering & Advanced Fermentation Technology at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), and currently he holds a University Distinguished Professorship. His research focus is biotechnology and biochemical engineering, metabolic engineering, synthetic biology, and fermentation engineering. He has published 6 books by Springer and over 230 articles in peer-reviewed international journals, and his publications have been cited for over 8800 times with an H-Index of 51 (Google Scholar). He holds over 20 patents of technological innovation and bioproduct development. Dr. Zhong was awarded the Cheung Kong Scholar Professorship from Ministry of Education of China (MOE) (1999), National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars by National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) (2002), the inaugural award of "Young Asian Biotechnologist Prize" by the Society for Biotechnology, Japan in 2002, the "Research Exchange Award" from the Korean Society for Biotechnology and Bioengineering in 2009, and the 1st-class Prize for Advancement of Science & Technology by MOE for twice (in 2004 & 2014). Professor Zhong was a plenary/keynote and invited speaker in over 50 international conferences, and he is on the editorial board of 10 SCI-cited international journals.
